How do I return library materials?

Answer

Borrowed items can be returned to the library in 2 ways:

1. In person at the Circulation Desk when we're open (Library hours are posted on the right side of our homepage).

2. Our bright blue drop boxes are an easy way to return books, calculators, DVDs, etc., when the libraries are closed. If you're returning something that seems fragile, please wrap it in a grocery bag or other protective layer before you drop it in the box.

  • San Marcos campus: Two drop boxes are available: one is outside the library main entrance; a second drop box is on the sidewalk next to Student Parking Lot 12, near the Police Dept. (PD) building.
  • Escondido Center: A drop box is located inside the main entrance of the Escondido Center building. The library closes before the Center building in which it's located (here are the Escondido Center building hours).
  • Rancho Bernardo Center: A drop box is located inside the main entrance of the Rancho Bernardo Education Center building, near the Admissions Office (here are the RBEC building hours)
  • Fallbrook Center: A drop box is outside, near the access ramp to the library.
