What does "Full Text" or "Available Online" mean?

When you see "Full text" or "Available Online" while searching for library resources, this means that you can access the full resource online immediately.

In the library OneSearch, click the green "Available Online" link to either go directly to the item or to go to the catalog record. If you are taken to the record, look for the database link in the light gray box under "View Online." Clicking this should take you to the item.

If you are searching in a specific library database, click on the title to be taken to the record information. If you don't see the entire article, look for a link that says "Access Options," "PDF Full Text," "Online Full Text," "Link to Full Text," or "Download."

If you don't see any of these options, make sure you have the filter selected for "Full Text" or "Available Online." For more information on navigating the library catalog and databases, check out our Library Research Orientation guide.

If the library doesn't have the full text of a resource you need, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan.
