How can I see which articles the Cerro Coso library has using Google Scholar?

Google Scholar has a very powerful search algorithm that you can use to find scholarly articles. Some articles are freely available through Google Scholar - look to the right of the title to see if there is a link that begins with [PDF] or [HTML]. Many others, however, will be behind a paywall.

Fortunately, you can customize Google Scholar to show links to articles that are available to you through Cerro Coso using these steps:

  1. Click the hamburger icon in the top left corner (the three horizontal lines).
  2. Click Settings, next to the cog icon.
  3. Click Library Links.
  4. Search for "Cerro Coso"
  5. Check the box for "Cerro Coso Community College Library - View It @ Cerro Coso"
  6. Click Save.

To keep these settings active, make sure you are signed in to your Google Account before saving.

When you find an article that is available through Cerro Coso, click the "View It @ Cerro Coso" link on the right to be taken either directly to the article or to the record in the library catalog, where you can find the link under "View Online." You may need to log in with your college email address and password if you are off-campus.
